- small table with gas pistons: furniture equipped with a cylinder (generally made of steel) containing nitrogen gas under pressure and complete with a small metal rod.
When pressure is applied, the rod will enter the cylinder, compressing the gas, which will behave exactly like a common spring, giving the structure a push; the latter will allow the table to be lifted.
