What is an ergonomic relaxation armchair?
When we talk about an armchair or ergonomic postural chair we are referring to a seat designed specifically to adapt to the shape of the human body and its functioning, especially when you are forced to spend long periods of time sitting (as happens when you work in the office or when you are engaged in the study).
An ergonomic postural office chair or an ergonomic home chair are therefore the solution not only for comfort but also for health, of our back in particular, which is the most at risk when spending long periods of time sitting. Types of relax armchairs: what are they?
The relax armchairs currently on the market can be distinguished according to their functioning system. In this case they can be distinguished in:
- manual relaxation armchairs, which are the simplest and obviously cheaper seats. These models allow us to find the most suitable relaxation position thanks to the weight and pressure of our body;
- automatic relaxation armchairs, which are a slightly more expensive solution, equipped with a lever system that allows us to adjust the armchair in different positions;
- relaxation armchairs with motorised system, which represent the "top" models, equipped with a motor that allows us to adjust the positions of the armchair.
In addition, the relaxation armchairs are distinguished by the fact that they can be fixed, reclining (up to a maximum comfort position), with or without footrest (which can be integrated into the armchair or independent), with swivel base, with lifting system (designed for people with reduced mobility) and equipped with a massage system (shiatsu or heating).
The best relaxation armchairs: technology at the service of health
The best ergonomic chairs are certainly those equipped with more advanced and complex technology: of course, fixed armchairs can offer an upholstered and comfortable seat, but they are able to support a single position.
The possibility of tilting the backrest, possibly using a motor and then a button or a remote control and comfortably resting the feet, up to an almost lying down position, are important features for a relaxing armchair, as well as being equipped with a heating massage system.
All features that obviously have a cost, so the more equipped and therefore more comfortable models (including those that allow you to adopt the "zero gravity" position, such as astronauts during take-off) have higher costs than the simpler relaxation armchairs. Obviously we should always consider also the context in which the armchair should be inserted, (office or home) in order to integrate it in the best way with the surrounding environment.
