For some years now, the use of stools in the furnishing of commercial activities, bars, restaurants, offices, companies and homes has been very trendy; more and more people are deciding to combine the design that distinguishes their spaces with the presence of one or more stools. Certainly these furnishing accessories are now made with the help of different materials and there are many styles and inspirations that characterize the design and production of stools today. There are stools of all heights, suitable for the needs of children, or perfect to be placed near a bar counter, in a living environment, or around the central island that characterizes the American style kitchens.
Stools today are certainly a modern solution of great visual impact, to furnish the living area of our home environments. In the kitchen, the matching of stools is perfect, especially with the classic islands or peninsulas; the choice to place a stool in the dining room, near a table characterized by a relatively high height, is also excellent.
When choosing the stool that suits your personal taste and living needs, it is not enough to consider only the appearance of the design and the material with which the furniture is made. When choosing a stool it will undoubtedly be important to consider the height factor. The stools are designed and produced with different height characteristics, especially with reference to the relative height of the top or surface, which they must approach. In particular, it will be important to consider the height of the stool for the kitchen island, the height of the stools for the snack top and the height of the bar stools. Kitchen stools tend to be about 60 centimetres high. For an American-style island, the height of the kitchen island itself with stools should be carefully considered. Usually the height adjustment is included in a range from 50, 55 centimetres up to about 80 centimetres. In order to choose the height that characterises the stools that you are going to buy and insert in your rooms, we advise you to consider in depth the characteristics of the point where you are going to place them: you will have to pay particular attention to the measurements of the furniture that you will find where you decide to place the stools.
If your table or worktop will be more than one metre high, then you should choose relatively tall stools. We can say, to give you precise data, that the distance between the seat of the stool and the worktop or table should be approximately 25, 30 centimetres, in order to guarantee the best comfort to the worker or to those who are eating on the table.
Thanks to a difference of 25, 30 centimetres, the seated person will be able to carry out their tasks with minimum fatigue. As far as the stool height for the kitchen island is concerned, a relatively high seat will have to be provided: a stool with a seat height of 60 centimetres will be perfect to be positioned near an American-style kitchen island. In general, kitchen stools have a height of around 60, 65 centimetres. The home stools, to be positioned in areas where they will not need to be used as a seat for high worktops or counters, can also be characterised by a more limited height.
